The dollar's rise followed U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's testimony to Congress on Wednesday, in which he said the Fed's massive bond-buying program would remain in place for now. Central bank could start paring back purchases in a couple of months China's factory activity shrank for the first time in seven months in May as new orders fell. The PMI fell to 49.6 suggesting that the economy is not strong enough to offset soft external demand.
